Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your actions and preferences (such as login details, items in your basket, or display settings) so you do not have to re-enter them each time you visit. Some cookies are placed directly by us; others are set by third-party services we use.
↑ Back to topThis policy explains how MacroMed Healthcare Limited, trading as Hayes First Aid (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on hayesfirstaid.com. We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, and Google’s requirements for sites using Google services, including Google Consent Mode v2.
- To operate the site — keep your shopping basket, remember your login and maintain security.
- To understand how visitors use the site — analytics data helps us improve pages, navigation and product listings.
- To personalise your experience — where you have given consent, we may show relevant content based on your browsing activity.
| Category | Examples | Purpose and legal basis |

Our website is fully compliant with Google Consent Mode v2. This means that Google tags (including Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads) only collect and process data in line with the consent signals you provide through our consent banner. Where you decline analytics or advertising cookies, Google’s services operate in a privacy-safe mode using modelled data and no personal identifiers are transmitted.
Our implementation satisfies Google’s EU User Consent Policy and we have configured the following consent signals: analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization. These signals are set to “denied” by default and only updated to “granted” when you accept the relevant cookies.
↑ Back to topSome cookies are set by third-party services that appear on our pages. We do not control these cookies directly; they are governed by the relevant third party’s own privacy and cookie policies. The main third-party services we use are Google Analytics (policies.google.com/privacy) and Google Ads / Google Tag Manager. Where applicable, Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymisation enabled.
↑ Back to topSession cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period — typically between 30 days and 2 years depending on the cookie — or until you delete them manually. Our consent banner stores your preference for up to 12 months, after which we will ask again.
↑ Back to topYou have full control over which optional cookies are placed on your device. You can manage your preferences at any time in the following ways:
- Consent banner — use the “Manage cookies” link in the footer of any page on our site to update your choices at any time.
- Browser settings — most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Refer to your browser’s help documentation for instructions. Note that blocking all cookies may affect how our site functions.
- Google opt-out — you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent your data being used by Google Analytics across all websites.
